Edward W. Said

Edward W. Said (1935-2003) foi um dos intelectuais mais influentes da segunda metade do século XX. A sua obra principal, Orientalismo, fundou os estudos pós-coloniais. Nascido na Palestina, filho de pai norte-americano, exilou-se com a família nos EUA, na sequência da formação do Estado israelita. Formado em Princeton e em Harvard, foi professor de Literatura Comparada na Universidade de Columbia.
