Edith Eger
Edith Eger was born in Hungary and was just a teenager when she was sent to Auschwitz in 1944. Currently, she runs a psychology clinic in La Jolla, California, works at the University of California, San Diego, and lectures regularly in the United States and around the world. She also works as a consultant for the U.S. Army and Navy on resilience training and the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder. Edith Eger was named Psychology Professor of the Year (1972), Woman of the Year in El Paso (1978), and received a Humanitarian Award from the California State Senate (1992).
