Duarte Belo nasceu em Lisboa (1968). Licenciado em Arquitetura (1991).
Paralelamente à atividade inicial em Arquitetura, desenvolve projetos em Fotografia. Expõe individualmente desde 1989, tendo já participado em numerosas exposições individuais. Está representado em diversas coleções públicas e privadas, em Portugal e no estrangeiro. Já desenvolveu a atividade de docência e participa regularmente em seminários, congressos e mesas redondas.
Na Documenta, publicou: A Torre (com Maria Inês Cordeiro), em 2013; Maria Gabriela Llansol — O Encontro Inesperado do Diverso (com Ilda David), em 2014; Cesariny — Em Casas Como Aquela (com José Manuel dos Santos), em 2014; Alberto Carneiro – Natureza Dentro, em 2017.
