Dov Alfon, que cresceu em França e Israel, é um ex-espião da Unidade 8200, a divisão mais secreta das Forças de Defesa de Israel. Foi também diretor do mais influente jornal israelita, Haaretz, ao serviço do qual recebeu várias distinções, incluindo o prémio Media Para a Paz (Peace Through Media), atribuído pelo International Council for Press and Broadcasting. O seu primeiro romance, O Espião Israelita, foi um enorme sucesso da crítica e comercial em Israel, e está traduzido em 12 países. Atualmente está em curso a adaptação para uma série de televisão, levada a cabo pela produtora Keshet International, responsável por sucessos como Segurança Nacional. O autor vive atualmente em Paris, a partir de onde continua a colaborar com o jornal Haaretz. É ainda o CEO da Storyvid.io, uma organização sem fins lucrativos que fundou juntamente com o escritor Etgar Keret e cujo objetivo é aproximar a literatura dos novos media. É casado e tem três filhas.
