Dossie Easton é psicoterapeuta conjugal e familiar, especializada em sexualidades alternativas, relações não tradicionais e terapia para sobreviventes de trauma. Identifica-se como queer e aderiu a um estilo de vida sexual aberto em 1968. Deu o seu primeiro workshop sobre desaprender o ciúme em 1973. Além de A Puta Ética, escreveu também, em parceria com Janet Hardy, When Someone You Love Is Kinky, The New Bottoming Book, The New Topping Book e Radical Ecstasy: SM Journeys to Transcendence.
