Dominique Wolton é diretor de investigação no Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, a maior instituição de investigação científica francesa e uma das mais importantes do mundo. Sociólogo, teórico da comunicação, especialista em media de massas, comunicação política e em relações entre ciência, tecnologia e sociedade. É o fundador e diretor da revista international Hermès (CNRS Éditions) desde 1988. É autor de 30 livros, traduzidos em 20 idiomas.
