Deepa Anappara

Deepa Anappara cresceu em Kerala, no sul da Índia, e trabalhou como jornalista em Mumbai e em Deli. As reportagens que fez sobre o impacto da pobreza e da violência religiosa na educação das crianças valeram-lhe um Developing Asia Journalism Award, um Every Human Has Rights Media Award e uma Sanskriti-Prabha Dutt Fellowship para jornalismo de investigação. Com uma parcela do seu romance de estreia, A Patrulha da Linha Púrpura, venceu o Lucy Cavendish College Fiction Prize, o Deborah Rogers Foundation Writers Award e o Bridport/Peggy Chapman-Andrews Award. É também autora de contos, que foram transmitidos pela BBC Radio 4, e com os quais conquistou o Dastaan Award, o Asian Writer Shortstory Prize, o segundo lugar no Bristol Short Story Awards, o terceiro prémio nos Asham Awards. É mestre em Escrita Criativa pela Univesity of East Anglia, onde atualmente desenvolve a sua tese de doutoramento como bolseira da CHASE. Os direitos de publicação de A Patrulha da Linha Púrpura foram vendidos para 20 países.
