David C. Lay

David C. Lay graduated from Aurora University and completed his master's and doctoral degrees at University of CaliforniaHe was a professor and researcher in Mathematics for over 40 years, having worked primarily in University of Maryland, where he was a leader in the movement for the modernization of Linear Algebra teaching. He also taught in the Netherlands and Germany. He received four university awards for teaching excellence. He passed away in October 2018, but his legacy continues to benefit Algebra students worldwide.
