Daniel Kehlmann nasceu em Munique em 1975. Aos seis anos, mudou se com a família para Viena, onde estudou Filosofia e Estudos Alemães, e hoje vive em Nova Iorque, Berlim e Viena. É autor de um dos maiores sucessos literários em língua alemã de sempre, A Medida do Mundo, um bestseller internacional traduzido para mais de quarenta línguas e que foi também adaptado ao cinema. Os seus livros conquistaram diversos prémios literários, entre os quais, o prémio Thomas Mann, o Die Welt, o Candide, o Kleist e o Doderer.
