Dag Solstad (Sandefjord, 1941-2025) foi considerado um dos mais importantes escritores noruegueses contemporâneos, o único a ter recebido três vezes o prestigiado Prémio da Crítica desse país, além de muitas outras distinções.
Autor de mais de trinta livros, entre romances, contos e peças de teatro, as suas obras foram sempre alvo de aceso debate, graças ao seu radicalismo anticonformista.
