Crockett Johnson

Crockett Johnson nasceu em Nova Iorque e passou a sua infância em Long Island. Formou- se em arte na Universidade de Nova Iorque e na Cooper Union.
Durante anos foi autor e ilustrador da popular tira de banda desenhada Barnaby. Também ilustrou livros infantis como The Carrot Seed, de Ruth Krauss.
Apesar das diversas contribuições, foi através dos livros sobre o pequeno Harold e as suas aventuras com um lápis púrpura que se celebrizou.
