Cristina Kas Norton nasceu a 28 de fevereiro de 1948, em Buenos Aires, Argentina, reside em Portugal há várias décadas e escreve em português.
A sua obra, que engloba poesia, romance e conto, está publicada em Portugal, no Brasil, no Chile e em Espanha. Destacam-se os romances O Afinador de Pianos (1997), O Lázaro do Porto (2000), O Segredo da Bastarda (2002), A Casa do Sal (2006), O Guardião de Livros (2010) e O Rapaz e o Pombo (2016), um dos três nomeados para o Prémio Autores da SPA. O seu livro de contos infantis O Barco de Chocolate recebeu o Prémio Adolfo Simões Müller. A Vida É Um Tango (contos, 2018) foi semifinalista do Prémio Oceanos e o conto «As Cinzas da Mãe», incluído neste livro, foi adaptado a televisão e transmitido na RTP1 em janeiro de 2021.
Recebeu, em 2016, o Prémio Reconhecimento Embaixada da Argentina pelo seu «destacado desempenho literário em Portugal», e, em 2020, a distinção Ad Femina Mundu do Prémio Femina Notáveis Mulheres.
