Claude Lorius, há quarenta anos que participa em inúmeras expedições do Antárctico, representando mais de seis anos de presença no terreno. Investigador no CNRS no âmbito do Laboratório de Glaciologia e Geofísica do Ambiente, que dirigiu, consagrou as suas pesquisas ao estudo do clima e do ambiente atmosférico.
