Claire Corbett nasceu no Canadá e trabalhou em cinema. Os seus artigos e contos têm sido transmitidos na Radio National e publicados em várias revistas e jornais, nos quais se incluem Rolling Stone, Cinema Papers, Picador New Writing e Sydney Morning Herald.
O Império das Asas é o seu primeiro romance. Claire vive com o marido e os filhos nas Montanhas Azuis, na Austrália.
