Catherine E. Housecroft é professora de Química na University of Basel, na Suíça. Autora de inúmeros livros e mais de 400 pesquisas e ensaios, a sua vasta experiência académica inclui o ensino em países como Inglaterra, Suíça, África do Sul e Estados Unidos.
Atualmente, dedica-se a pesquisar temas que englobam aspectos da coordenação química associada a conversão de energia solar, iluminação por meio de dispositivos em estado sólido, oxidação da água e coordenação de polímeros porosos e suas ligações.
