É coautor do bestseller internacional Nudge, um pequeno empurrão e The World According to Star Wars. É professor em Harvard, onde dirige o Programa de Economia Comportamental e Políticas Públicas. Entre 2009 e 2012 esteve à frente do gabinete para a Informação e Questões Regulamentares, na Casa Branca, e, entre 2013 e 2014, fez parte do Grupo de Estudo criado pelo Presidente Barack Obama para Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicações.
