Carmine Abate

Carmine Abate nasceu em Carfizzi, uma vila arbëresh da Calabria. Em jovem emigrou para Hamburgo e atualmente vive na região do Trentino. O seu primeiro livro, Den Koffer und weg!, foi publicado na Alemanha em 1984. Il ballo tondo, de 1991, é o primeiro livro publicado em Itália, ao qual se sucederam contos e romances de sucesso. Os seus livros ganharam prémios de prestígio sendo traduzidos em muitos países. Em 2012, com La collina del vento, ganhou o Prémio Campiello.
