Carme Riera

Carme Riera nasceu em Palma de Maiorca, em 1948. É Professora Catedrática de Literatura Espanhola na Universidade Autónoma de Barcelona. Escreve em catalão e revelou-se em 1975 com o seu livro de contos e Te deix, amor, la mar com penyora (35 edições). Os seus romances, traduzidos para várias línguas, receberam vários prémios.
No Último Azul obteve o Premio Josep Pla, 1994, o Premio Creixells, 1995, a Lletra d’Or, 1995, para o melhor livro do ano, bem como o Premio Nacional de Literatura, que, pela primeira vez consagrou um romance escrito em catalão.
