Carlos Manuel Serpa de Matos Gomes (Vila Nova da Barquinha, 24 de julho de 1946 – Lisboa, 13 de abril de 2025) foi oficial do Exército, tendo cumprido comissões em Angola, Moçambique e Guiné. Investigador de História Contemporânea de Portugal, publicou em nome próprio e em coautoria com Aniceto Afonso Guerra Colonial, entre outros.
Sob o pseudónimo literário de Carlos Vale Ferraz, publicou dezenas de romances, figurando no catálogo da Porto Editora A Última Viúva de África, Prémio Literário Fernando Namora/2018, Nó Cego, Que Fazer Contigo, Pá?, Angoche e O Gémeo de Ompanda.
