Carlos Pacheco, luso-angolano, é historiador e autor de vários estudos publicados sobre os primórdios da luta armada em Angola e sobre o pro-cesso pós-colonial; é igualmente autor de trabalhos consagrados à historio-grafia da sociedade híbrida angolana que se formou na grande plataforma da costa atlântica e cujo apogeu se apagou no 3.º quartel do século XX. As suas obras incluem, entre outras, José da Silva Maia Ferreira, O Homem e a Sua Época, MPLA, Um Nascimento Polémico e Repensar Angola.
