Carlos Frederico, cujo nome completo é Carlos Frederico Brás Pinto, nasceu a 22 de março de 1961, numa aldeia do concelho de Moita, no distrito de Setúbal. Licenciou-se em Línguas e Literaturas Modernas, pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade Clássica de Lisboa, em 1984. É professor do Ensino Básico há mais de trinta anos e, atualmente, leciona Português e Inglês na Escola Artística do Conservatório de Música Calouste Gulbenkian de Braga. Tem um livro publicado, "O Natal do Avô Carlos", destinado aos mais novos, mas a sua verdadeira vocação é escrever aventuras para todas as idades misturando fantasia, factos históricos, ficção científica, terror e suspense.
