Carlo Michelstaedter
He was born in Gorizia in 1887 into a Jewish family. After completing high school, Michelstaedter enrolled in the Faculty of Mathematics in Vienna. He then moved to Florence, where he intended to dedicate himself to painting. Instead, he attended the Faculty of Letters, focusing mainly on Greek poetry and philosophy.
