B.K.S. Iyengar (1918-2014) foi um mítico mestre de yoga e autor do livro mais importante sobre o tema, Luz sobre o Yoga.
Apresentado ao Ocidente pelo famoso violinista Yehudi Menuhin, ensinou figuras icónicas da cultura e líderes mundiais, bem como inúmeros professores que difundiram o seu método moderno e refinado às maiores cidades dos EUA e aos quatro cantos do mundo.
Entre os seus livros clássicos, todos sucessos de vendas, estão Light on Pranayama, Light on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali e Yoga: The Path to Holistic Health.
Entre muitas outras distinções, foi nomeado uma das 100 Pessoas Mais Influentes do Mundo, pela revista Time, em 2004.
