Bill Browder
Bill Browder, founder and CEO of Hermitage Capital Management, was the largest foreign investor in Russia until 2005, when he was banned from entering the country. Since 2009, he has led a global campaign to denounce corruption and human rights abuses in Russia.
Because of his actions, the Sergei Magnitsky Rule of Law Accountability Act was passed in the US in 2012, imposing visa bans and asset freezes on public officials involved in Magnitsky's death. Browder is currently working to ensure that similar legislation is passed in the European Union.
