Nasceu em Lisboa em 1973. Frequentou a Faculdade de Belas Artes da mesma cidade.
É um dos cofundadores do Planeta Tangerina.
Em 2008, com o livro "Pê de Pai", ganhou uma Menção Honrosa no Prémio Best Book Design from All Over the World promovido pela Book Art Foundation.
Em 2009, foi um dos vencedores do 2nd CJ Picture Book Awards (Coreia), com o livro "As Duas Estradas". No mesmo ano ganhou o Prémio Nacional de Ilustração com o livro "Depressa, Devagar". Já em 2011, o álbum "O Mundo num Segundo" foi distinguido como um dos melhores do ano pelo Banco del Libro da Venezuela.
