Benji Davies, desde tenra idade, podia ser encontrado a desenhar e a pintar na mesa da cozinha, uma cena que até hoje é muitas vezes repetida. Ele é um autor e ilustrador de sucessos como Bizzy Bear («Ursito Tito», em Portugal), The Storm Whale, Grandad’s Island e The Grotlyn, entre outros.
Foi vencedor do primeiro Oscar’s First Book Prize 2014 e do prémio do Livro Infantil da Sainsbury de 2015. Atualmente, mora no leste de Londres com a esposa e a filha.
