Barnaby Rogerson é co-editor da Eland Books (www.travelbooks.co.uk), que publicou muitos dos clássicos da literatura de viagens. Escreveu vários livros e guias, incluindo O Profeta Maomé: Uma Biografia, The Heirs of the Prophet Muhammad: And the Roots of the Sunni-Shia Schism, Cadogan Guide to Morocco (já na quinta edição) e A History of North África. Também publicou colecções de literatura de viagens e poesia, como Meetings with Remarkable Muslims, Desert Air e Marrakech, The Red City. Participou ainda na elaboração do guia American Express Istambul, publicado pela Civilização Editora.
