Barbara Stok

Barbara Stok tornou-se conhecida pelas suas histórias em BD sinceras e autobiográficas. Com base em experiências e observações, ela traça um retrato tão engraçado quanto comovente de uma mulher otimista na sociedade atual. Além disso, ela também cria biografias ilustradas, como Vincent, sobre Vincent van Gogh, publicado em mais de vinte países. O jornal NRC Handelsblad considerou-a «uma das mais importantes criadoras de banda desenhada da Holanda», e os jornais The Times e The Guardian também escreveram críticas elogiosas. Em 2009, recebeu o prémio Stripschapprijs pelo conjunto da sua obra. Barbara Stok vive com o marido e o cão em Groningen. Além de criadora de banda desenhada, é baterista, velejadora e, ocasionalmente, estudante de filosofia.
