Barbara Mutch

Barbara Mutch was born and raised in South Africa, the granddaughter of Irish immigrants who settled in the Karoo region in the early 20th century. She attended school in Durban and Port Elizabeth, graduating from Rhodes University. Like her protagonist Ada, she is a talented pianist and a keen follower of African politics and history.
