Bárbara Guimarães nasceu em Angola, em 1973, e mudou-se para São João da Madeira com quatro meses. Aos sete anos, passou a viver em Lisboa, onde viria a estudar Relações Internacionais e Jornalismo. Iniciou-se como jornalista na TVI, mas foi na SIC, com Chuva de Estrelas, em 1997, que deu o passo para o entretenimento. Desde então apresentou diversos programas, entre os quais Furor, Duetos Imprevistos, Páginas Soltas, 24 Horas de Vida, Globos de Ouro, entre outros. Filha de uma professora e de um artista plástico, também professor, é mãe de dois filhos.
