Ayelet Gundar-Goshen nasceu em Telavive, Israel, em 1982. Formada em Psicologia Clínica pela Universidade de Telavive, estudou também escrita de argumentos para televisão e cinema na Sam Spiegel Film and Television School, em Jerusalém.
É autora e produtora de várias curtas-metragens estreadas em festivais internacionais de cinema, bem como de séries televisivas. O seu argumento para a curta Batman at the Checkpoint foi distinguido com o Prémio Berlin Today, em 2012. O seu romance de estreia Só Uma Noite, Markovitch (Gradiva, 2017) venceu, entre outros, o prestigiado Prémio Sapir.
