Axel Honneth
Axel Honneth (1949) is a renowned German philosopher and sociologist. Since 2001, he has directed the Institut für Sozialforschung at the University of Frankfurt, the famous institution where the so-called Frankfurt School emerged. Honneth has also been a professor of Social Philosophy at the same university since 1996. In the field of social and practical philosophy, he is involved in the project of relaunching the tradition of Critical Theory, from the Frankfurt School, which had illustrious predecessors in Horkheimer, Adorno, and Habermas.
