Arthur Conan Doyle

Scottish doctor and writer, he was born on May 22, 1859, in Edinburgh, and died on July 7, 1930. A remarkable storyteller, who conceived with great imaginative power, he became extremely popular after the publication of the first adventure of the detective Sherlock Holmes, in 1887. Dozens of stories followed with Holmes as the protagonist. In addition to these works, Doyle also published historical narratives (such as The White Company) and science fiction (such as The Lost World).
