Aroa Moreno Durán nasceu em Madrid, em 1981. Estudou Jornalismo na Universidad Complutense, especializou-se em Informação Internacional e Países do Sul. Publicou dois livros de poesia Veinte años sin lápices nuevos e Jet lag e é autora de duas biografias, uma sobre Frida Kahlo, Viva la vida, e outra sobre García Lorca, La valiente alegría. A Filha do Comunista é o seu primeiro romance.
