Arnaldur Indridason (Reiquejavique, 1961) é historiador, jornalista e crítico literário e de cinema. Durante vinte anos trabalhou para o Morgunbladid, o mais importante diário da Islândia, antes de se dedicar à escrita a tempo inteiro. Com traduções disponíveis em mais de quarenta línguas, os seus romances rapidamente se tornaram bestsellers. A sua vasta obra tem recebido inúmeros prémios, entre os quais se destacam o The Glass Key (2002 e 2003), atribuído pela Associação Escandinava do Romance Policial, e o CWA Gold Dagger.
