É professor associado no Iscte-IUL, onde é o diretor académico do Mestrado em Gestão de Recursos Humanos e Consultoria Organizacional e investigador da Business Research Unit do mesmo instituto. É doutorado em Psicologia pela Universidade do Minho e pós-doutorado pela Universidade Livre de Berlim. Leciona e investiga nas áreas de GRH, comportamento organizacional e gestão da mudança. É atualmente editor associado da revista International Journal of Stress Management (APA). Desde 2018, faz parte do Executive Committee da European Association of Psychological Assessment.
