António Marques

He was born in Porto in 1950. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) in 1972, holds a Master's degree (1977) in Polymers and a PhD (1981) in Composite Materials. Cranfield Institute of Technology (United Kingdom). He has held the title of Associate Professor at FEUP since 2001 and has been a Full Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering since 2002. Since 2021, he has been Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. His research and teaching interests are Polymers and Polymer Matrix Composites, Biomechanics, Occupational Health and Safety. He has taught several subjects related to Polymers, Composite Systems, Materials Selection and Design. He has been responsible for several R&D projects, especially with industry.
