Antonio Tabucchi

Antonio Tabucchi (1943-2012) was born in Pisa, where he studied, first at the Faculty of Letters and then at the Scuola Normale SuperioreHe taught at the Universities of Bologna, Rome, Genoa, and Siena. He was Visiting Professor node Bard College from New York, in School of Advanced Studies from Paris and in Collège de FranceHe published 27 books, including novels, short stories, essays, and plays. His works have been translated into more than 40 languages. He has received numerous national and international awards. Alone, or with Maria José de Lancastre, he translated the works of Fernando Pessoa into Italian. Considering that his homeland is also the Portuguese language, he wrote a novel in Portuguese. Requiem, 1991. His plays were staged by, among others, Giorgio Strehler and Didier Bezace. The Horizon's Thread, Indian Nocturne, Pereira states and Requiem They were adapted for film by Fernando Lopes, Alain Corneau, Roberto Faenza, and Alain Tanner, respectively.
