António Mateus é coordenador e apresentador do programa de Relações Internacionais da RTP, é jornalista profissional desde 1984 e autor de cinco livros centrados em experiências de reportagem em cenários de conflito, por ele acompanhados durante 16 anos em três continentes.
Destacado em 1986 para Maputo, tornou-se o mais jovem jornalista de sempre a chefiar uma delegação de agências internacionais de notícias, um posto a partir do qual cobriu as guerras civis de Angola, Moçambique e Grandes Lagos, as sucessivas rondas de paz para estas regiões e a luta contra o apartheid na África do Sul.
