António Maria Lisboa nasceu em Lisboa a 1 de agosto de 1928. É um dos autores principais do texto coletivo A Afixação Proibida, e a sua "conferência-manifesto" Erro Próprio é consensualmente reconhecida como um dos mais decisivos textos do movimento Surrealista. Entre viagens, escreveu muitos poemas e preparou alguns livros, como Ossóptico (1952) ou Isso Ontem Único (1953). Em 1953, não resistiu à tuberculose que o acometia e morreu, em Lisboa, aos vinte e cinco anos.
