António Manuel Ferreira é professor associado com agregação na Universidade de Aveiro. Organizou a edição das Obras Completas de Branquinho da Fonseca, publicadas pela Imprensa Nacional-Casa da Moeda em 2010, em defluência da sua tese de doutoramento, igualmente editada pela Imprensa Nacional, em 2004: Arte Maior: os contos de Branquinho da Fonseca. Fundou e dirige a revista forma breve. Em 2012, publicou o livro de ensaios Sinais de Cinza: Estudos de Literatura (Guimarães: Opera Omnia).
Principais áreas de investigação: Literatura portuguesa; Literaturas em língua portuguesa; Literatura e Religião; Mitografias.
