António Alberto da Silva de Jesus nasceu no Funchal em 1943.
Leccionou a disciplina de Matemática em várias escolas secundárias do Funchal. Fez parte da Comissão Instaladora da Câmara Municipal do Funchal após o 25 de Abril. Como independente, colaborou com o Governo Regional, resultante das eleições legislativas de 1976 ocupando o cargo de Chefe de Gabinete da Secretaria da Educação. Pediu a demissão do cargo em 1978 e regressou ao ensino, passando a integrar, por convite, o quadro da Escola da APEL, onde se manteve até a aposentação.
Antes desta obra já publicara o livro de poesia Vivendo o Poente.
