António Leão Correia e Silva é sociólogo e historiador, docente da Universidade de Cabo Verde, e autor de vários livros, como Histórias de um Sahel Insular (1995), Nos Tempos do Porto Grande do Mindelo (2001), O Tempo das Cidades-Porto (1999), Cabo Verde, Combates Pela História (2004). Com a Rosa de Porcelana Editora publicou Dilemas de Poder na História de Cabo Verde (2013) e Cabo Verde: O Despertar de Darwin (2017 - em coautoria com Zelinda Cohen). É também coautor dos três volumes da História Geral de Cabo Verde (1991, 1995, 2001).
