António Cirurgião

António Cirurgião [Soutelinho da Raia/Chaves, 1933]. Professor universitário e ensaísta. Emigrou para os EUA em 1962. Lecionou na Universidade de Santa Bárbara, Califórnia, na qualidade de professor visitante. Em 1981, foi agraciado pelo Presidente da República Portuguesa com a Ordem do Infante D. Henrique. É autor de uma vasta bibliografia, nomeadamente: Eça a Jorge de Sena, Imprensa Nacional, 2010; Cancioneiro de D. Cecília de Portugal, uma edição da Revista Ocidente; Novas Leituras de Clássicos Portugueses, Edições Colibri, 1997, de entre outras.
É colaborador regular em diversas revistas e dicionários de literatura e história americanos, brasileiros e portugueses.
