Anthony B. Atkinson
Anthony Barnes Atkinson is a renowned British economist who teaches at the London School of Economics. Along with Simon Kuznets, Nobel Prize winner in Economics, he is one of the pioneers of the empirical study of income inequality, and his research has influenced, among others, the work of Thomas Piketty. Atkinson has become the leading British authority on the study of inequality and poverty, areas he has explored for the past 40 years, and his name is linked to the development of a prominent measure of income inequality: the Atkinson Index.
