Anne Weber nasceu em Offenbach am Main, Alemanha, em 1964, e vive em Paris desde 1983. Autora bilingue, faz também traduções do alemão para o francês (de Sibylle Lewitscharoff, Wilhelm Genazino, entre outros) e do francês para alemão (Pierre Michon, Marguerite Duras). Do mesmo modo, escreve os seus próprios livros tanto em alemão como em francês. As suas obras receberam o Prémio de Literatura Heimito von Doderer, o Prémio 3sat, o Prémio de Literatura Kranichstein e o Prémio Johann Heinrich Voß, entre outros. Annette, Epopeia de Uma Heroína recebeu o Prémio do Livro Alemão 2020, o maior galardão das letras alemãs, e foi finalista do Prémio Strega Europeu 2021.
