Anna Kim was born in South Korea in 1977, but her family moved to Germany in 1979 and then to Vienna, where the writer currently lives. She studied Philosophy and Theatre at the University of Vienna and published three novels between 2008 and 2017. A Child's Story It was nominated for the German Book Prize in 2022 and was a finalist for the Austrian Book Prize. The author has received numerous awards for her essays and narrative work, including the European Union Prize for Literature (2012) and, more recently, the Prize... Veza Canetti from the City of Vienna (2023).
