André Letria nasceu em Lisboa em 1973. As suas ilustrações percorrem as páginas de livros e jornais. Fez cenários de teatro e realizou filmes de animação. Ganhou o Prémio Nacional de Ilustração em 1999 e 2019, o Grande Prémio Gulbenkian em 2004 e um Award of Excellence for Illustration, atribuído pela Society for News Design (EUA), entre outros. O seu livro A Guerra, com texto de José Jorge Letria, foi distinguido com alguns dos maiores prémios atribuídos a livros infantojuvenis, como o Grand Prix do Nami Concours, da Coreia do Sul, ou o prémio Talking Pictures da Feira do Livro de Nova Iorque. É o autor da coleção Desconcertinas e partilha com o seu pai, o escritor José Jorge Letria, a autoria dos títulos A Guerra, Se Eu Fosse Um Livro e Domingo Vamos à Luz.
