Ana Sofia Ferreira é professora auxiliar na Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto e investigadora integrada do Instituto de Sociologia da mesma universidade. É doutorada em História, na especialidade em História Contemporânea, pela Universidade Nova de Lisboa, com uma tese intitulada Luta Armada em Portugal (1970-1974). Tem desenvolvido trabalhos em torno dos temas da violência política, da oposição à ditadura, da esquerda radical e do papel das mulheres no processo revolucionário português. Entre as suas publicações, destacam-se La Izquierda Revolucionária en el Laberinto de la Revolución de los Clavele (Dykinson, 2021); As Esquerdas Radicais Ibéricas entre a Ditadura e a Democracia. Percursos Cruzados (Edições Colibri, 2020); Violência Política no Século XX - Um balanço (IHC/FCSH, 2018).
