Ana Paula Maia

Ana Paula Maia nasceu em Nova Iguaçu, Brasil, em 1977. Escritora e argumentista, trabalhou em cinema, televisão e teatro.
Autora de vários romances, a sua obra distingue-se por uma escrita seca e incisiva, marcada por universos de violência, marginalidade e degradação, e por influências que vão de Fiódor Dostoiévski ao cinema de Quentin Tarantino e Sergio Leone. Os seus livros encontram-se publicados em vários países, incluindo Alemanha, França, Itália, Estados Unidos da América e Espanha.
Assim na Terra como embaixo da Terra venceu o Prémio São Paulo de Literatura para Melhor Romance do Ano em 2018 e, na sua edição inglesa, On Earth As It Is Beneath, integrou a shortlist do International Booker Prize 2026, afirmando internacionalmente Ana Paula Maia como uma das vozes mais singulares da literatura contemporânea.
